Mission Statement and
Educational Philosophy

"Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord: And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes. And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house and on thy gates." -  Deuteronomy 6:4-9 (KJV)

SICA is committed to cultivating leaders who possess the wisdom to transform the world through a Christian worldview, who are equipped with well-balanced knowledge shaped by Classical Christian education, and who are dedicated to establishing God's kingdom on earth through faithful service and love.

The Seoul International Christian Academy exists to serve God as a wholly Christ-centered institution in its approach to education. Believing deeply in the identity of all people as image-bearers and stewards of God’s creation, we seek to equip our students with the tools and understandings necessary to fulfill these biblical responsibilities.

Three avenues are essential in this aim: building discipline and good habits, studying the great thinkers throughout history, and appreciating the true, the good, and the beautiful. These are embodied in our motto: “Love to learn, love to think, love thy God.”

Statement of Faith

The following is the foundation of beliefs on which SICA is based. These core elements of Christianity will be taught without compromise or apology in all subjects and across all grade levels. The substance of these statements is designated as the primary doctrine of SICA.

Education

Scripture

We believe the Bible to be God's only inerrant, authoritative Word.

The Trinity

We believe in one God, eternally existent in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He is omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent.

Jesus Christ

We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and His return in power and glory.

Holy Spirit

We believe that regeneration by the Holy Spirit is necessary for the salvation of lost and sinful men.

Salvation

We believe that salvation is by grace through faith alone.

Faith and Works

We believe faith without works is dead.

Christian Living

We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by Whose indwelling the Christian can live a godly life.

Resurrection

We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost: those who are saved to the resurrection of life and those who are lost to the resurrection of damnation.

Unity

We believe in the spiritual unity of all believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.

Creation and Marriage

God wonderfully and immutably creates each person as male or female. Rejection of one’s biological sex is a rejection of the image of God within that person. We believe marriage has only one meaning: the union of one man and woman in a single, exclusive, lifelong relationship, as delineated in Scripture. We believe that God intends sexual intimacy to occur only between a man and a woman who are married to each other.

A Letter from the Principal

Dear SICA Community,

As we embark on the 2024-2025 school year, it is with great anticipation and joy that we welcome you to SICA. Our school thrives on the collaborative spirit of our dedicated staff, our students' enthusiasm, and our families' unwavering support. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to each of you for your continued commitment to our shared mission.

At SICA, our mission is to form the hearts and minds of our students in Jesus Christ, rooted in classical wisdom and dedicated to fostering holistic growth. We believe that education transcends the mere acquisition of knowledge; it is about shaping wise and virtuous individuals ready to serve others and glorify God in every area of their lives.

This year, we are returning to our foundational values by placing renewed emphasis on our school motto: "Love to Learn, Love to Think, Love Thy God." Through our distinctive curriculum, we are dedicated to reigniting a deep passion for learning and the joy of discovery in every student. We aim to cultivate curiosity, foster intellectual engagement, and nurture critical and creative thinkers firmly rooted in their faith.

In addition to our rigorous academic program, SICA offers a broad array of after-school activities and club opportunities. These experiences are designed to help students explore and develop their interests and talents, providing a well-rounded education that extends beyond the classroom.

As we move forward together, the words of Proverbs 22:6 resonate deeply: "Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it." I sincerely hope that, by working together, we will guide our children along a path of wisdom and truth.

Thank you for your continued partnership and dedication to our mission.

Sincerely,

Kyungwon Lee
